Brickheadz - The Mandalorian and The Child (75317)

This is going to be the final build for a week or so - my next job is to pick the parts for the 2007 UCS Falcon, along with the UCS B-wing and 4-5 other sets (I've found it's most efficient to dump all the parts into a long list in a spreadsheet and then pick for multiple sets at once... it minimises the number of times I go back into each box.  So I do about 1,000 individual part picks over about a week and then build for a week... and then reward myself with a couple of new builds.  Rinse and repeat.  Just in case you're wondering why I'm following this, frankly, insane regime, I set out some of the reasons here but forgot to say that I'm also aiming to have all of the Lego Star Wars sets built at once - I reckon I'll get there by about May 2021 which gives me a few months to buy the last 30 or so sets I don't own).

Anyway, on to the review... 75317 THE Mandalorian & THE Child (capitalisation apparently important in indicating singularity) is nearly the last of the SW Brickheadz into my collection.  I'm just missing the Boba Fett / Han Solo in carbonite, which is a limited edition and I'm still working up the courage to spend £250+ on it.

I've not yet got Disney+ so I've yet to delve into this new extension to the SW universe; the background to The Mandalorian and The Child is therefore lost on me, apart from the fact that one is a Mandalorian and the other is clearly basically a baby Yoda.

The build, however, was one of the best Brickheadz sets I've done - it's fair to say that I loved it.  First out of the box was The Child, sitting in something that looks like an egg (please resist the temptation to tell me what this is until I've given in to the temptation to get Disney+!).  Some nice bits of design in here and a new part for me (67329).

Next out is The Mandalorian. All mostly straightforward until I got to the lower part of the helmet when suddenly everthing was tipped sideways and held in place with 3-sided panels!  Mindblowingly clever!  The rest of the build was still cool - limited repetition/symmetry, even on the arms and legs.

Pleasing variation of colours throughout; a suiltable selection of printed parts (I don't think the Brickheadz sets would work half as well if they had stickers, which I generally loathe); great level of detail; new parts (at least in my collection).  This set therefore gets 10/10 from me.
